Our Community

Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners

The Project Area lies on the boundary of the Aboriginal language group Nganyaywana, also known as the Anaiwan, and on the territory inhabited by the Gamilaraay (Kamilaroi) language group. We acknowledge the Gamilaraay and Anaiwan people, Traditional Custodians of the land, and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise their continuing connection to this land and the continuing contribution they make to the life of this region.

Our Community

The locally-based Bendemeer Renewable Energy Hub team is committed to engaging respectfully, inclusively and meaningfully through transparency of information and feedback. We will be active in our approach to encourage locals to provide input and feedback on the project, with ongoing regular community meetings, newsletters, and contribution to local events.

Our objective is to develop a respectful relationship with all project stakeholders to ensure this project forms an important identity in the region.
